    Description

    This 1949 issue Lionel 6457 box is in like new barely used original condition except for the track bites on one panel. The circumstances of this box seem be an immediate and certain need to insert a 6457 into a boxed set and only having a 6357 box available. In a set there was no relative need to mark out and over stamp all of the occurrences of the "6357" number and they took the time to only black out the end flaps.  Only one of the end flaps was rubber stamped with the correct number. The track bites are an additional indication of the set component usage of the box.
